Respite Care

Taking care of a medically complex child is a big responsibility that comes with ups and downs. You are not alone. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Ask your child’s doctor about respite care. There are many options such as in-home with an agency, a medical daycare, or searching for someone on your own.

Another option is searching for someone on Care.com. I recommend searching for someone who has experience as a behavioral therapist, works in special education, or who has previous experience working with children who have cerebral palsy, autism, etc…Set up a few interviews and a few visits where you are present to see if they are a good fit for your family.
